History

How I started with wire foxterriers.

I bought my first dog beginning of 1983, from The Louline Kennel. He was just bought as a pet and Geir Pedersen named him Louline Favorite Son, because from the first time I saw him, 4 weeks old, he became MY favorite son. At home we called him Lukas.
Eventually when he grew up, my trimmer asked me if I wanted to enter him to a dogshow. I didn't know anything about it, so  any activity with my dog was fun and I agreed! To my surprise my little dog, 7 months old, became Best puppy in breed. I was in heaven and suddenly dogshowing became very interesting, because I like to compete.

It wasn't long til I started to learn  how to trim and I was practising almost every night after work. My dog had to stand there very often, so for his sake I asked some other wireowners if  I could practise on their dogs, since my dog had almost no hair left on his body. It was not easy, but I had an excellent teacher in Geir Pedersen, who advised me.
When my dog  was almost two years old, I bought my second dog. This time a bitch.
Her name was Louline Hi Destiny.

In the meantime I had made my dog , Lukas, a Champion.
He even became Best in Show at the Swedish Terrier Club
and the judge was Mr. Albert Langly. That was in 1986.

My bitch, Louline Hi Destiny, was very short and sweet.
Her parents were CH Louline Hell Cat and
CH Sylair Special Edition. I had a lot of fun with her
in the showring during 1987 and she had some winning.

1987 Geir Pedersen sent me Penda Picturesque from England. She was mated to CH Louline Heartbreaker and she had her litter at my place, april 1987, but in the Louline affix.
In that litter I picked a dog, who we called Louline Promotion. He just stepped into my heart from the beginning.
His nickname was Bix.

When I started showing him, he had some good winning 1988.
I kept on showing him 1989 and he won the titel "Dog of the year all breeds" at The Swedish Kennel Club 1989.

So I was really lucky, beeing a beginner.
This tought me a lot. Except that one has to have a real good dog, one also has to work very hard to reach this far... among other things, a lot of preparing at home. But it's really worth it!
It's so nice to have so much fun together with your dog!

When my bitch, Louline Hi Destiny, was about 2½ years old  I mated her to CH Blackdale Commander. This was to be my first litter in my own affix Crispy.
There were two bitches in the litter.  I kept one of them and  named her Crispy High'n Low.
When she was just over 2 years old, beeing showed and winning so much during 1990  she became "Dog of the year all breeds" at The Swedish Kennel Club.

I couldn't believe it was true when she got her titel.
It was so incredible! Things like this  just doesn't happen two years running, if ever.

Since then I really started to learn about breeding.
Now I discovered that it doesn't come so easy.
It's hard but fun, and above all, so exciting to see if  my breedingplans result in some good offspring.
Some of them you can see on "My dogs-site".
Up till now I have bred,  trimmed and showed about
40 champions.
For me it's very important, that both looks and temperament are good. A beautiful dog must always have a good temperament and be healthy.
If not, I don't use them in my breedingprogram.

I've also sold dogs and bitches to other breeders, both in Scandinavia and Europe.

Nowadays some of us are co-operating and we really have
lots of fun and get much help and support from each other.
It's so important for the breed and we enjoy it.

These years, when I have been an owner/breeder of wire foxterriers, I've had so much fun and also been working hard with no regrets.
I want to go on, hopeing to realise all my future plans in breeding.
As time goes by, I've realised,
that it would be impossible for me to do something else if I have a choice.
